What you can and can't download

Public tweets with video or GIF attachments can be saved freely. Protected (private) accounts and deleted tweets are off limits — no tool can fetch what the platform no longer serves publicly. X also throttles anonymous requests from data centers, which is why good downloaders chain several resolution methods instead of relying on one.

The fastest route

You only need one thing: the tweet's link. On desktop, copy the URL from the address bar; in the app, tap the share icon and choose "Copy link". Then:

  • Paste the link into the downloader's input field.
  • Wait a few seconds while the source video URL is resolved.
  • Pick the quality you want and save the MP4 to your device.

When the tweet refuses

Some tweets are age-restricted or flagged as sensitive, which forces X to ask viewers to log in. When that happens, a downloader will tell you explicitly instead of failing silently — and the backup service on the failure screen often handles those cases anyway. If the tweet is genuinely deleted, no service can help.

Get the original quality

The video you see in the X player is a compressed stream tuned for your connection. Downloaders fetch the source file with its original bitrate instead — noticeably sharper on a big screen, with the audio track intact rather than re-compressed.
