The short versionand the long one

• Download videos, Reels, and posts from platforms you have a personal right to download from (your own content, content shared with you, public content under the platform's terms, etc.).
• Save media for personal, non-commercial viewing.
• Use the service at a reasonable, human-driven pace.

• Download content you do not have the right to download (e.g. private accounts, paid content behind login, copyrighted material distributed without permission).
• Re-upload downloaded content elsewhere without the rights-holder's consent.
• Bulk-scrape, automate requests, or otherwise run a bot against our endpoints.
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, abuse the service, or interfere with other users.

Downer is provided as-is. The service relies on third-party platforms (Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, etc.) whose terms, login requirements, and rate limits change without notice. We do our best to keep downloads working but make no warranty of uninterrupted availability.

You are responsible for the content you download and how you use it. Downer is a download tool — it does not host the media and does not arbitrate who has rights to what.

Downer does not host media. We are a download tool that fetches files from each platform's own content delivery network at the moment you request them. Because no copy is ever stored on our servers, there is generally nothing for us to take down in response to a takedown notice.

If you are a rights holder and want to flag a specific piece of content, the most direct path is to ask the platform itself to remove it. Once the platform removes the source, our downloader will return the same error any user would see for a non-existent post.

For issues that cannot be resolved at the source platform, send a notice to the contact address listed in the GitHub repository with the URL in question and your relationship to the content. We respond to verifiable notices within 30 days.

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. Supported platforms come and go as their own terms and technical shape shifts: Instagram, TikTok, and the others update frequently and sometimes in incompatible ways. When a platform change forces us to retire a downloader, we will simply remove the affected page rather than ship a degraded experience.

We may also update these terms. Material changes — anything that affects what you can or cannot do with the service, or how we handle your data — will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use after such a change indicates acceptance of the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the service operator is established. Any dispute arising from use of the service will be resolved in that jurisdiction's competent courts unless local law provides otherwise for consumer-protection claims.

For informal concerns or questions before any formal action, reach the operator at the email address published on the GitHub repository. Most issues resolve quickly when contacted directly.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. Failure to enforce any right under these terms does not waive that right.
